The Texas state senator believes Perry and his allies care more about their political future than the well-being of women.
?Gov. (Rick) Perry and Lt. Gov. (David) Dewhurst are willing to ? put women in harm?s way in order to step up on the political ladder,? she said on CBS? ?Face the Nation? on Sunday morning.
Perry and Dewhurst are pushing for a sweeping anti-abortion bill that would effectively close all but five of the state?s 42 current abortion clinics.
?If this happens in Texas, women in impoverished, remote areas of Texas ? will no longer have access to this safe reproductive health care,? Davis said.
And Davis said Perry?s comments about her personal life are demeaning to the office he holds.
