PHILADELPHIA, February 13, 2013 -- The National eHealth Collaborative (NeHC), a public-private partnership that enables secure and interoperable nationwide health information exchange to advance health and improve health care, has joined AmericanEHR Partners as a content provider, joining more than 20 professional societies that support the free online resource.

AmericanEHR Partners provides comprehensive information to support clinicians in the selection and use of electronic health records (EHR) in order to improve health care delivery. It was founded by the American College of Physicians (ACP) and Cientis Technologies.

"NeHC provides an excellent menu of high quality, interactive educational opportunities for health care professionals through NeHC University," said Michael S. Barr, MD, MBA, FACP, who leads ACP's Medical Practice, Professionalism & Quality division and is a member of NeHC's Board of Directors. "We look forward to sharing their programs and collaborating on new activities for the AmericanEHR community."

AmericanEHR content providers are not-for-profit organizations with expertise in health care informatics that create neutral educational content to support selection, adoption, and use of EHRs by health care providers and their practice teams.

"National eHealth Collaborative is proud to join AmericanEHR Partners and to have the opportunity to provide our NeHC University content targeted to help clinicians leverage health IT to improve health care," said Kate Berry, Chief Executive Officer, NeHC.
